Wall Hanger

I fished out the original bonnet from the G, polished it and hung in on the wall in the shed, life scars and all. Love the colour.

I would love to know what decal was on the underside in the second photo?

Out for Australia Day run.

 We went on a local club run to celebrate Australia Day.

On the way home the tacho decided to play up showing idle at 4000rpm and anything over that at 8000rpm. Its working normal now, must have been the heat!

Rusty Fuel Tanks.

 I have had trouble lately with fuel starvation. It ended up being from sediment dropped from rusty fuel tanks. I have removed both tanks, cleaned them and sealed them with POR15 tank sealer. I keep asking myself, why didn't you seal them while restoring the car?

The G has been sitting around for about 10 months without being used. Needless to say it has given me some trouble to get it going again. The fuel had gone stale and gummed up the Webers. Over a period of about 3 weeks I removed the old fuel, cleaned the Webers, replaced the battery and starter motor and re jetted the Webers. Its all going better then before now and is again back in storage but this time with fuel stabliser in the tank. I had it out today and took some photos.

All French Car Day, Sydney 2019.

I attended the 2019 All French Car Day on Sunday with the G. We won the best Gordini again for the 3rd year in a row. Might take the Alpine next year.

Another first

We attended the All French Car Day for 2018 and won the best Gordini on the day. Was not the clean sweep of 2017 as there were some great cars there on the day.

Only 3 R8 G's made it on the day.
